Frequently asked questions
Everything guests ask most before their first charter. Can't find your answer? We're a call, text or email away.
Guests & Capacity
Either up to six or up to 13, offered as two different packages. Charters for 1 to 6 guests are captained, with a licensed captain included in the rate, and carry up to 6 people in total including the person who booked. Charters for 7 to 13 guests follow the U.S. Coast Guard bareboat model, where you charter the boat and select a licensed captain who is hired and paid directly. A bareboat charter carries up to 13 people in total: 1 charterer plus up to 12 guests. The charterer is whoever signs the bareboat agreement, and they are one of the 13. Captain and crew are not counted. These are legal limits and exceptions cannot be made.
Yes. On the 1-6 charter, 6 is everyone aboard including you. On the 7-13 bareboat charter, 13 is the whole party: the charterer who signs the agreement, plus up to 12 guests. Your captain and crew are not part of that count. These are legal limits and exceptions cannot be made.
Ask us first — you can't simply arrive with more people than the charter you booked allows. Going from 6 to 7 is not an extra-passenger fee, because it changes which charter you are on: a captained charter cannot legally carry a 7th person, so the booking has to be converted to a 7-13 bareboat charter with its own agreement, captain selection, pricing and tax, and anything already paid is credited toward it. That takes time to complete properly, so tell us as early as you can. Above 13 people there is no option at all, and the party has to come back down to 13 before the charter can leave the dock.
Absolutely. Two climate-controlled staterooms give kids shade and a place to rest, the hydraulic swim platform makes getting in and out of the water easy, and our captains are experienced with families.
On the Water
Easy and relaxed. We cruise at a gentle, comfortable pace so everyone can settle in, take in the scenery and let the dolphins come play alongside the boat. This is smooth, scenic cruising built around a laid-back day on the water, which is exactly why guests love it.
Dolphins are common in local waters and often ride the boat's wake, which is one reason we cruise at an easy pace. We can't guarantee wildlife, but sightings are frequent and a favorite part of the trip.
We pretty much do everything but fishing. There is no live well, rod holders, etc. Please leave fishing equipment at home.
Four hours is our most popular charter and the sweet spot for a relaxing day on the water. We also offer 6-hour and full-day 8-hour charters, and shorter 2-hour outings can be arranged on request. Pricing for each length is on the Price List.
Food & Drink
Yes. Bring whatever food and drinks you would like (no red wine, please). Small coolers and ice are welcome, and there's a refrigerator on board to keep things cold.
Yes. The yacht has two full bathrooms with showers, plus a full galley with a sink and refrigerator.
What to Bring (and Not Bring)
Bring the food and drinks you'd like (no red wine), a small cooler and ice if you want, towels, a hat and lotion sunscreen. Everything else, from the swim platform to the staterooms and restrooms, is on board.
No more passengers than your charter allows, no spray sunscreen, no pets, no drugs, no smoking on the boat, and no fishing equipment. Please bring lotion sunscreen instead of spray.
No pets and no smoking on the boat. These help keep the yacht comfortable and clean for every guest.
Booking & Payment
Use the "Check pricing and availability" button to open our live booking calendar, then complete the short charter form for your group size. A participant waiver is completed before your trip.
For groups of more than six, charters follow the U.S. Coast Guard bareboat model. The listed price is the private boat charter, and your licensed captain is selected and paid directly to the captain as a separate fee. The captain's fee is not bundled into the boat rate or paid by Top Fun Charters. You book directly with the owner-operator, so there are no broker markups or hidden booking fees.
Payment can be made by Zelle, Venmo, CashApp or credit card.
Yes. Every participant signs a waiver, release and assumption-of-risk agreement. Guests under 18 require a parent or guardian to sign consent. The waiver is completed as part of your booking, before your trip.
For a direct booking, measured from your scheduled departure time: more than 120 hours (5 days) ahead, a full refund of charter fees less any payment-processing fees actually incurred, plus one free reschedule. Between 72 and 120 hours, your choice of a 50% refund or 100% charter credit toward a future charter. Inside 72 hours the reservation is nonrefundable and cannot be rescheduled, unless our Weather Guarantee applies. Requests must be in writing by email or text; we cannot acknowledge a verbal request or voicemail. Full details are in our Cancellation, Rescheduling & Weather Policy.
Pickup & Logistics
Safe Harbor Pier 77 Marina, 12312 Manatee Ave W, Bradenton, FL 34209, directly across the bridge from Anna Maria Island on Route 64. There's free parking and easy-to-board floating docks; meet at the end of the middle dock where the yacht is positioned.
Other pickup and drop-off points can be arranged with advance notice, though an additional cost applies to cover the extra fuel and crew time.
Yes. Free parking is available at the marina. The ship store, a Tiki Bar and other amenities are on site as well.
Weather & Safety
A rainy, cloudy or generally unpromising forecast does not by itself cancel a charter, and Florida forecasts change quickly. Our Weather Guarantee applies when a National Weather Service Small Craft Advisory or a more severe marine warning covers the waters we would be operating in for a substantial part of your charter: then you can reschedule at no charge or take a full refund. The captain can also call off a charter on safety grounds at any time, with the same protection. Weather decisions are generally made within about four hours of departure, so please assume your charter is going ahead unless we contact you.
The captain is. For everyone's safety, the captain's word is the law aboard the ship, and we ask all guests to follow the crew's instructions.
